Liskeard Happy Days is one of many Happy Days nurseries throughout Cornwall and Plymouth. We are located in a prime location on the grounds of the local Infant and Junior school.

Our baby room offers care for babies aged 3 months to 1 year.
The baby room is very homely and well equipped which allows the staff to provide a wide range of stimulating and exciting activities.

In the baby room the staff have a very good relationship with our parents/carers, which helps us to ensure we continue to care for their babies in a way depending on their preferences and routines that they follow at home.

Our Tiddler room caters for children aged 1 - 2 years.
The staff provide the children with lots of opportunities to be active as many are just beginning to walk, the environment is set out in a way to enable them to develop and practice these new walking skills. The Tiddler room also has a really welcoming cosy corner for the children when they want some quiet time to rest and relax.

Our toddler room provides care for children aged 2 - 3 years
Every day the dedicated staff plan a variety of learning opportunities from the birth to three matters framework taking into consideration each child's developmental stage. The room is set out in a way, which offers these opportunities in designated areas to allow the children to explore independently. Within our toddler room there is a child friendly bathroom where toilet training can begin, promoting independence whilst still allowing staff to closely support. The room is nice and bright and over looks the school playing field, which encourages discussion about the outdoor environment.

Our pre - schoolroom cares for children aged 3 years to 5 years.
Children can receive free grant funded sessions, which are available for five 2 ½ hour sessions, which can be used at times convenient to you. The foundation stage curriculum is followed and the room is wonderfully set up again in a way that the children benefit fully from the learning opportunities provided. Our caring and friendly staff encourage the children to be as independent as possible throughout the day ensuring that every experience has a learning intention behind it and are also supported where needed. Children's self help skills are also encouraged like putting their own coats on, helping to lay the table at meal times and to help each other which will prepare for the transition to big school. The children have great knowledge of the daily routines and clearly enjoy the pre-school environment.
 
Our outdoor area leads off from the pre-school room. All rooms access the area at different times of the day at least twice a day and all weather suits are provided when needed for all ages so the damp weather doesn't stop us from venturing out as we feel that fresh air is extremely important. The area is very safe and secure allowing all ages to benefit. We also have access to the nature area on the school playing field, which we frequently like to visit.

We also provide a before and after school club which we feel is a very beneficial service for working parents who are unable to take to or collect their child from school themselves. Age appropriate activities are provided from which we like to include the children's ideas and interests.
